A WORD ABOUT STARGATE ACTORS ACADEMY I have had the opportunity, indeed the pleasure, of working with Stargate Actors Academy for 4 years now. They have been a great resource for many a Murdoch film production course offering their services as casting agents as well as trainers.
Ms Sharon Stephan and her team bring a wealth of knowledge, imagination and creativity that is vital for an educational training environment. From working with first year to final year students, Stargate staff and cast members have added to the wealth of Murdoch's creative output in film acknowledged in the excellent productions that Murdoch produces. Through such films as Squint (2002, Mr Hatcher,2002 The Soap Opera- Search for Tomorrow (2003) and many other projects, Stargate has continued to be a valued collaborator in Murdoch's skills and knowledge imparting endeavours.
I can not speak highly enough of their efficiency, skills and commitment to the creative product.

Stargate Actors Academy presented a session with the students involved in the Finding MY Place program in Term 3 2005 at Belmont Library. The session involved improvisation games and focused on confidence building and self esteem. The group of 10 students actively participated in the session and thoroughly enjoyed the constant activity. The presenter was professional and very approachable. The students felt extremely at ease and clearly felt relaxed enough to step out of their comfort zones. I was so impressed with the session that I have since booked Stargate Actors Academy for 3 additional sessions in 2006. As the State Co-ordinator for the Finding MY Place program in Western Australia I have included Stargate Actors Academy on the Finding MY Place Recommended Presenters Guide, which is distributed to all libraries running the program. I highly recommend Stargate Actors Academy.

Hello Stargate I have had the pleasure of inviting Stargate into my year 12 Drama and Drama Studies classroom for Term 1. Sharon came in with a 'let's do this thing' attitude, and there was no room for excuses or fatigue. The students were inspired and astounded at what they could achieve in such a short amount of time. Having Stargate come in showed me and the students that they could produce some really top-grade work, and display skills they never knew they had. Hi Sharon
Just a note about the Voices production which I attended last night. You and Gail and all the guys did amazingly well to put together such a complex theme in 5 weeks.
I was quite knocked out by the script that James wrote. His ability to create the disturbed reality of the mentally ill is quite astonishing. He also manages to demonstrate a mature understanding of family relationships, which certainly at times made me wonder how much of his own experience he was reflecting.
I felt really proud, so thanks especially to you for your efforts in bringing all this out of him, and nurturing his talent.

I just wanted to say thankyou for everything that you have done for me. I sometimes think that you don't get enough appreciation for all your hard work and how much you care for your actors that you are teaching. So I just wanted to say thankyou for everything that you have done for me alone. Sometimes people make good decisions in their lives and sometimes they make bad decisions. But the decision I made to call Stargate and start acting again properly has been by far the smartest and best decision that I have made. I have gotten so much out of having the honour and privalege of representing Stargate and getting taught by your total proffesionalism and expertise that I feel not only a better actor in myself but also a lot better person and confident person in myself. I just wanted you to know that I do really appreciate it and hopefully sometime I will be able to pay you back for everything that you have done not only for me but all your actors the people that work for you and anyone who has the privalege of knowing Sharon Stephan a name that will be remembered for many years to come. Thankyou Sharon for helping to be my guiding light not only to try and be the greatest actor I can be. But also be the greatest person I can be. Sharon and Gail from Stargate have been exceptionally beneficial to the Finding MY Place programme at Girrawheen Library. Their professionalism is without doubt and their commitment to support us and accommodate changes at short notice has been a gread foundation for the programme. Students have benefitted from the sessions held with Stargate which have helped develop confidence and break down barriers at the start of the programme. Last year's programme wrap-up was made even more enjoyable in that we were able to get Stargate back to perform some short sketches exploring some of the choices that the students would have to face. The students particularly appreciated the fact that the sketches were written especially for their programme. We look forward to working with Stargate many times over the coming years. Gareth

Just a quick note to say HOW FANTASTIC the show was last night!!!!!
Gail is brilliant as I'm sure you know, and the kids just shone. She really does know how to bring out the best in them. So many impressed parents and excited kids, it was wonderful. Make sure there is room for us next year.
