NU-CLEAR PITCH (Voice Production)

Throughout this course, participants will learn the importance of projection, articulation and modulation thus building confidence and improving speech.

BREATHING & PROJECTION

Projection is the voices carring power.  The strength and control of the participants breathing muscles affects how the voice is focused and how the vocal power is released.  most important point is to be heard when speaking.  By implementing activities that focus on voice projection and breathing through the diaphram, correctly, participants voices will be heard, their breathing will flow smoothly and confidence will set in.

ARTICULATION

Articulation require sounds which are shaped, expression, clarity and speech.  Participants will be taught how to speak clearly, deliver dialogue in a significant and emotional sense and work on oral speaking by using their articulators effectively.

MODULATION

The modulation of the voice is tone, pitch and volume, varying the projection, pace, pitch, variety and resonance of the voice.  It also involves pausing and emphasis to convey the meaning and mood of the text.  Working on exercises that cover these points, participants will enhance variation and character to the dialogue they deliver.

COMMUNICATION

Verbal and physical communication exercises are encouraged so participants can understand the difference between verbal and physical, building confidence and converse comfortably with others.

SPEECH AND PRODUCTION

In the final class, participants perform oral speaking with news articles they have been working on throughout the course.  Focusing on all aspects they have been taught, after performances participants will receive critique cards and certificates of completion.

STAR-IMPROS

This class is designed for participants to use their creative mind, be quick witted and work as a team when placed under a short time frame.  This high energy class focuses soley on improvisation games and has few boundries to enable students to express themselves freely.

CONFIDENCE BUILDING

Confidence is an asset in all aspects of a persons life.  This course will enhance skills such as communication, presentation and team building.

COMMUNICATION -  Verbal and physical communication exercises are encouraged so participants can understand the difference between verbal and physical, build confidence and converse comfortably with others.

PRESENTATION – Appearance plays another significant role when working with confidence.  Attire, eye contact and posture are put into practice to reinforce their importance and have participants using these points in their everyday life.

TEAM BUILDING -  Understanding team work makes a happier working and studying environment, builds confidence, participation, communication and trust.  Improvisation games are added to this syllabus not only to cover the advantages that team building has to offer –

but also assist with believing in ones self, being witty and knowing how to deal with pressure.

SCRIPT WORK & HOT SEATING

This course is implimented to improve participants presentation, marketing and networking skills.  Although very effective in business, this technique is mostly used in acting, to understand your character fully. (History, family, location, age and otherwise) Hot Seating is a great way to further develop your spontaneity and take you out of your comfort zone. It also helps to erase those gaps some of us love to fill in with words such as “Um and Ah”.

SCRIPT WORK 1 - Working with a script, students will have a full understanding of dialogue delivery, script interpretaion, visualisation and creating their own legend (notes) to work on punctuation.

HOT SEATING 2 - Hot seating is added to this course to assist students to get into their characters fully, deliver answers effectively and handle challenging situations in characterisation and life in general through a confident and effective manner.

SCRIPT WORK 1 – Understanding presentation, marketing and networking – script work is structured to integrate all three and allow participants to explore on their own level.  Participants will be looking at ways of marketing themselves, networking, writing, preparing, delivering, and performing the material they produce thus giving them a full understanding of how preperation, presentation and delivery of dialogue can help make any career choice.

HOT SEATING 2 - Before you can market and present yourself you need to know about yourself – who you are? What you do? How you can assist? How you can make a difference? and so on.. Hot seating is added to this course to see how much you really know about yourself.  We are all aware of who we are, though when we are asked these questions, how do we deliver the answers?  Hot seating will help participants answer questions in a professional, confident manner and handle challenging situations.

MASKS WITH EXPRESSION – All tressle masks have a form of expression, students are taught how to work with that expression by focusing on movement to suit the character.

IN REVERSE – Students will work with the masks in creating different expressions of movement behind the masks given. (ie: A student given a happy tressle mask will learn how to express sadness to change the whole image of the character.

FOCUSThe mask has it’s own line of focusThis will differ with each student depending on hieght and face.  Students will learn how to find their focus point.
